SHANTI MAYBERRY, HHP, Ph.D.

Known for her insight, down to Earth perspective and vivid personal stories, Shanti is an Ecopsychologist and Holistic Health consultant, university teacher and meditation and movement instructor. Through her classes, individual sessions, seminars, and international retreats, she has taught nature-based healing practices, depth psychology, women’s empowerment and new paradigm principles to thousands of clients and students for over thirty-five years.

As part of her contemplative path, she has been blessed with opportunities to meet and practice with numerous spiritual leaders, including sages from India, Buddhist and Taoist masters and the Dalai Lama. She holds a Ph.D. in psychology, a BA with honors from UC Berkeley, an MA from the University of New York.  She works at the natural health center, Inner Balance, which she co-founded over twenty-five years ago with her acupuncture partners.

Shanti weaves together many strands of knowledge, understanding and experiential learning in the tapestry of her work with groups and individuals, presentations and forthcoming book. She freely shares her own experiences of profound transformation and healing in Nature and why she feels it is so important that we consciously shift into the Ecological Era.

She offers consultations, talks, seminars, and retreats, along with special programs such as  Empowered Sage Aging, a holistic approach to aging well and wisely. Recently she developed a nature-oriented pain relief program– Befriending and Transforming Pain– as a result of going through her own journey of recovery from severe back and nerve pain.

Shanti lives in a semi-forested coastal Southern California bioregion on the ancestral lands of the Kumeyaay with her extended human family and wildlife friends. Her wild visitors include great- horned owls, golden eagles, raccoons, coyotes, rabbits and a beloved rescue cat. She enjoys communing with Nature, gardening, playing music, and celebrating seasonal festivals.
